India Science Day
Freie Universität Hosts India Science Day dealing with Sustainability: June 11, 2012
№ 155/2012 from Jun 08, 2012
The symposium will be opened with a welcoming speech by the Indian Ambassador in Berlin, Her Excellency, Mrs.Sujatha Singh. The presenters will be scientists from Freie Universität and Indian scientists with fellowships from the German Academic Exchange Service. There will be an opportunity for the scientists to meet during a reception in the New Conservatory of the Botanic Garden.
For Professor Peter-André Alt, the president of Freie Universität, India is an important partner in science and research. According to Alt, "We have already maintained strong relations with five Indian partner universities for many years. In 2008 we opened a liaison office in New Delhi based on a strategic decision to put more emphasis on academic exchange with India."
The India Science Day is part of the Days of India in Germany initiated by the Indian Embassy on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
