Partnerships (MoU's)

Freie Universität has singed partnership agreements (Memorandum of Understanding - MoU)  with Delhi University, IIT Madras and the University of Hyderabad about the exchange of graduate (students enrolled in Master's programs) and doctoral students. With a grant, the stay of 1-2 semesters can be funded. Please consider that beginning and end of the academic year in Berlin and India differ. Program for the Mobility of German Master's and Doctoral Students (PROMOS)

In the context of the Bologna reform process, the increase of student mobility was one central demand by all actors in the higher education field. The new mobility program PROMOS aims to achieve this increased mobility through scholarships for short-term stays (up to 6 months). The stipend is awarded by the university itself through a quality-oriented selection process. A detailed description can be found on the DAAD website.

Scholarship by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)

The ICCR offers scholarships to non-Indian students. In the past, the number of scholarships for German students has generally been higher than the number of applicants, which is why a successful application is quite probable. Further information can be obtained on the website of the ICCR or directly from the Culture Counsellor at the Indian Embassy in Berlin (culture@indianembassy.de).
