Other Programs

Funding is available for project-based programs. These programs are bilaterally conducted and funded, which is why applicatons have to be submitted in Germany as well as in India:

Project-based Personnel Exchange Program (PPP) of the DAAD

  • in the Natural Sciences and Engineering, together with the DST (Department of Science and Technology)

University professors and researchers of Freie Universität Berlin and Indian universities, as well as researchers in permanent positions at publicly funeded research institutes can apply for funding of up to 2 years of a collaborative research project between Indian and German research groups in the fields of engineering and natural sciences.   • in the Social Sciences and the Humanities, together with the UGC (University Grants Commission)

University professors and researchers of Freie Universität Berlin and Indian universities, as well as researchers in permanent positions at publicly funeded research institutes can apply for funding of up to 2 years of a collaborative research project between Indian and German research groups in the fields of social sciences and the humanities. The exchange of (senior) researchers of Freie Universität Berlin and its Indian partners is funded particularly through two programs by the DAAD:

Natural Sciences and Engineering: DAAD-CSIR Exchange of Senior Scientists

Researchers, who work at one of the CSIR institutes and laboratories, can apply for a 1-2 months-long research stay at Freie Universität. The stay should be reciprocal. Application deadline is October 1. For more information, please click here.

Social Sciences and Humanities: DAAD-UGC Exchange of Senior Scientists

Indian researchers, who hold a doctoral degree and work at a university or a research institution, can apply for a research stay of 2-4 weeks at Freie Universität. The stay should be reciprocal. Application deadline is October 1. For more information, please click here.
