Hello my name is Stella. I am 23 years old and I’m a student at the medical faculty of Charité. I have been living in Berlin for over 3 years now, after moving here from Vienna where I grew up.

Life in Berlin has been an experience so far, to say the least. I am trying to take in everything it has to offer; culture, art, parks, free dancing lessons on the spree, great second hand book shops, techno raves in summer at the Tempelhofer Feld or in winter in various clubs, good food, lovely people. Oh yeah, and of course studying like a full time job! Some of the most inspiring and fun experiences I have collected at my university are the many extracurricular offers I am actively engaged in, where we organise events or critical discussions for example. So you either find me in the library, club, WG-balcony or mini-jobbing. Especially in demanding and time-consuming study fields and professions it can be hard to find a good work-life balance. Even more important to know what awaits you (although life is never what you expect it to be) and stay flexible & open to new situations.

I know how tough new beginnings and moving to a new city can be. One of the biggest lessons I learned was to take my time, and not take things too seriously. I hope to share some of my experiences and advice with you in the course of the next months.
