Hinweise für Studierende

Relevant information for students Ecological-floristic field course on selected habitats (Alps); Prerequisite: Successful participation in the seminar Organisms and their environment: Flora and vegetation of the Alps (27.05. - 31.05.2024; 09:00 - 13:00); The module can be studied in General Biology as well as in the specialisations Biodiversity, Evolution and Ecology and Plant Sciences. Also suitable for doctoral students. During the field course (15 days (full-day) in the 3rd block (24.06. - 26.07.2024) or at the beginning of the semester break, but most probably in July), travel costs for transport, accommodation and, if necessary, rental cars and fuel arise. For these costs, the BCP department usually grants a travel allowance; however, a personal contribution of at least 22 € per day is required. Knowledge of the important native plant families is required.
Also for geographers (Master's programme) as part of the module Flora and Vegetation of Selected Sites

Practical investigations, identification of recent organisms or fossils and ecological relationships, conducting ecological experiments. Evaluation of collected data, comparison with literature references and critical presentation.
Qualification goals:
The students are able to collect data on different forms and levels of biodiversity and to conduct ecological experiments and observations from a scientific point of view. They are familiar with different forms of data collection and evaluation and can plan and implement their own research programme in the field.
