The course is an introduction to gaining an understanding of North Korea as it truly is, and exploring the daily lives of its people. With an abundance of information available on North Korea, it can be challenging to discern between direct information from the country and other sources that may contain propaganda or advertisements. However, it is important to hear their stories before passing judgment. This course will not focus heavily on politics and ideology, but instead will delve into topics such as economics, science and technology, education, culture, movies, drama, shopping, food, leisure, and work, providing a unique glimpse into daily life in North Korea. Some may find it akin to a peculiar journey to an unfamiliar land, while others may see it as a virtual visit to an enigmatic country. The course is designed to broaden perspectives on the whole Korea and will feature 3-5 special lectures by guest speakers. It will be offered every semester with updated content. Schließen
