Fellowships in the area of Research Quality and Value / Call without deadline

Outgoing fellowships offer scientists and scholars at all career levels as well as science-supporting staff the opportunity to spend one to three months at a university or research institution in Germany or abroad / Incoming fellowships offer experts from abroad the opportunity to spend three to six months in Berlin.

News from Apr 25, 2023

The aim of the Fellowship Program with its two funding lines is to support measures and projects on research quality and open science and to facilitate research cooperation and knowledge exchange. National and international experts contribute their experience and expertise to the work of the Berlin University Alliance in an advisory role. Researchers and science-supporting staff from partner institutions of the BUA can expand their expertise and develop new approaches for the projects of the objective.

Outgoing Fellowships aim in particular at "learning from others" and networking with relevant actors. They give outstanding researchers at all career levels within the Alliance the opportunity to carry out their work at a German or international university and to familiarize themselves with new theoretical and methodological approaches. Outgoing Fellowships are also open to science-supporting staff to become familiar with established structures and processes at other institutions that ensure sustainable research quality or implement open science practices (good practice examples). The funding period for outgoing fellowships is one to three months. Interested applicants can submit an application to the Steering Committee Advancing Research Quality and Value.

Incoming Fellowships invite scholars with excellent contributions, specific experience, and expertise in research quality and open science to work at one of the partner institutions of the Berlin University Alliance. During their three- to six-month stay, they support and complement their colleagues in Berlin, work together on research and/or implementation projects, and initiate events. The aim of this collaboration - which should last as long as possible beyond the duration of the actual funding - is to expand the network of the Berlin University Alliance in the field of research quality and open science and to further increase its visibility both nationally and internationally. Potential candidates will be invited by the Steering Committee. Proposals for suitable Fellows can be submitted to the Steering Committee Advancing Research Quality and Value.

Applications are now open.
