Salome Bader, Muscat (Oman)

I’m Salome. I’m 21 years old and am in my fourth semester studying social and cultural anthropology and media and communication studies. This winter semester, I will be fleeing the cold weather in Berlin and heading for sunny Oman – although I am a bit worried about the heat. I will be studying media studies in the capital, Muscat. What do I like about Oman? The culture, the landscape, and the changes the country has undergone in recent years. And I’m excited about studying media in a country where freedom of the press is restricted. About me: I act in the theatre, am a member of Amnesty International, and keep fit with inline speed skating.

Ma Salama – Good-bye, Muscat!

Our “Letters from …” series is ending with Salome Bader’s farewell from Oman.
