Opening Ceremony of “Between Spaces” International Research Training Group at Freie Universität

German-Mexican Research Training Group Explores Globalization / Ceremony July 15, 2010

The International Research Training Group "Between Spaces. Movements, Actors and Representations of Globalization“ was officially inaugurated in Mexico in April. On Thursday, July 15, there will now be a ceremony at Freie Universität Berlin. The research training group is operated jointly by the Latin America Institute of Freie Universität, the Institute for Romance Studies of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the Institute for Romance Studies of Universität Potsdam, and Colegio de México, as well as several institutes of Universidad Autónoma de México and the Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores en Antropología Social in Mexico.

The research training group is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Mexican State Science CONACYT. The research focuses on the movements between different regions of the world and the new spaces arising in historical and current phases of globalization. Professor Peter-André Alt, president of Freie Universität, will give a welcoming speech.
