Ranking by the Centre for Higher Education Development Attests Diverse Excellence at Freie Universität Berlin

Various Subjects Were Given Excellent Evaluations

In a new evaluation "Diverse Excellence 2011" by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE), many subjects at Freie Universität Berlin were classified as excellent. The research-oriented subjects at Freie Universität that were ranked in the top group are English language and literature, education, psychology, and economics. Furthermore, CHE found that the Department of Education places a strong focus on students, while the Institute of Romance Languages and Literatures has a strong international focus in both research and teaching. Both of these subjects are also among the top groups of the evaluated areas.

According to CHE, this evaluation was based on university data used for the rankings in 2010 and 2011. Evaluations were made of language departments, cultural studies, law, business and economics, the social sciences, and engineering subjects. Various indicators in the ranking were bundled to evaluate the aspects of research, internationality, application, and student orientation.
