QS Ranking 2012: Freie Universität Berlin among 100 Best Universities Worldwide

According to the prestigious QS World University Ranking, Freie Universität remains among the world’s top 100 universities. In the latest ranking published on Monday in London, Freie Universität placed 87th worldwide. Among German universities Freie Universität Berlin is in fourth place, following TU Munich and the universities of Heidelberg and LMU Munich. According to this ranking, only four of the eleven universities selected in the German government’s Excellence Initiative are among the 100 best universities in the world. Freie Universität is the only university in Berlin to be included in the top 100.
Six indicators were included in the competition: the academic reputation of the institution, the citations of its faculty, the faculty-student ratio, the reputation of its graduates among employers, and the international composition of its students and faculty.
