Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) Again Certifies Excellence for Freie Universität in Several Subjects
Natural Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences Were Reassessed

The Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) once again gave Freie Universität Berlin top marks in several subjects in its latest university ranking. In the survey results published on Tuesday, the CHE highlighted the very good support offered students at the beginning of their studies in mathematics, biology/life sciences, chemistry, physics, geography, and Earth sciences. The university and its medical school Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin also received the best rating in the subjects of chemistry, pharmacy, political and social sciences, and medicine in the category of graduation within an appropriate time. The subjects geography, Earth sciences, mathematics, and physics were rated very well in their international orientation.
In the CHE University Ranking, one third of the subjects are reassessed each year. This year the assessed subjects are: biology/life sciences, chemistry, geography, Earth sciences, computer science, mathematics, medicine, nursing science, pharmacy, physics, political and social sciences, sports/sports science, sports for teaching, and dentistry. Not all of these subjects are taught at Freie Universität. According to CHE, more than 300 universities and universities of applied science in Germany and Austria are assessed. In addition to facts about studying, teaching, and research, the assessments are based on data from surveys of around 150,000 students.
