Researchers from the MAXCAP international research alliance study how the EU prepares candidate countries for membership.

It was a subject of debate among scholars, politicians, and economists: the eastward expansion of the European Union (EU) ten years ago. The enlargement, which encompassed ten new Member States, including Poland, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic states, was dubbed the “Big Bang.”
