As FUB’s Welcome Service, we support the onboarding of new employees at our university. To ensure that starting a position at FUB, but also in many cases moving to Berlin or to a new country entirely is as easy as possible, we’re collecting ideas on how to best design an onboarding process. In July, we held a meeting with interested FUB colleagues on the topic of "Integrating Diversity Aspects in Onboarding Processes". In addition, employees of the Welcome Services and Centers at HU, Charité, HWR, HTW, University of Potsdam and the German Research Center for Geosciences visited our campus on September 7, 2022. Not only were good practice examples presented and possibilities for mutual support explored during this first local networking meeting of its kind; we also discussed onboarding methods and shared insights on how new employees can be better supported while arriving and settling in.
