Brining together over 20 participants, the international workshop took place on 2-3 July 2020.

The workshop, organized by George Kyris, University of Birmingham, and Vera Axyonova, Academics in Solidarity, Freie Universität Berlin, invited scholars to reflect on the issues of analytical choices, fieldwork, positionality and interpretation in conducting research on conflict and in post-conflict environments. It featured keynote talks by Ilyas Saliba, researcher at Humboldt University, Berlin Social Science Center and Global Public Policy Institute and an active mentor of AiS, as well as by Daniela Lai, Senior Lecturer in International Relations at London South Bank University.
