On 21. February and 04. March 2022, AiS held two online workshops on how to fund research.

This workshop held by Dr. Thomas Koch provided an overview of the German research funding landscape focusing on funding opportunities available to researchers at the postdoctoral stage. Selected EU programs within the framework of Horizon Europe, such as MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships and ERC Grants, were also covered. Practice scenarios for different research settings helped to understand how to select and approach individual funding programs to build resources and capabilities for further career advancement. The workshop discussed how to identify funding opportunities for different research settings, get a better understanding of what makes a fundable research project, develop a competitive research proposal and build a research grant track record.
