With the support of Academics in Solidarity and History Institute of Friedrich Schiller University Jena this workshop wants to draw attention to new research directions travelogues depicting the Orient the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries can bring. Besides the workshop wants to show its support for for the integration of academics at risk in German and international academic communities. Moreover, the workshop offers a collegial environment for scholarly exchange among German and international scholars.

The workshop is free and open to the public. A pre-registration is required. The presentations will be in English and German.
