With funds from DAAD-GSSP, the Berlin Graduate School invites a number of applications for doctoral scholarships. Applications are accepted until 1 December 2022. The scholarships are available from October 2023 (Wintersemester 2023/24) for four years, subject to a satisfactory annual review.

Applications are only possible for non-German candidates!

2 doctoral scholarships within the “Ancient Philosophy and History of Ancient Science” programme for highly qualified graduates from the fields of Ancient Philosophy, Classics, History of Ancient Science.

2 doctoral scholarships within the “Ancient Languages and Texts” programme for highly qualified graduates from the fields of Ancient History, History of Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages; Ancient Oriental Languages; Ancient Philology: Greek (with Byzantine); Latin (Classical Latin, Middle and Modern Latin); Egyptology (with Coptology); Iranian Studies; Jewish Studies; Protestant Theology (with Old Testament/Hebrew Bible and Septuagint, New Testament, Church History); Religious Studies; Roman Law.

2 doctoral scholarships within the “Languages and cultures of the Silk Road” programme for highly qualified graduates from the fields of Central Asian studies, Iranian studies, East Asian Art and Archaeology, Near Eastern Archaeology, Prehistoric Archaeology.
