Executive Vice President of Freie Universität Berlin, Prof. Dr. Verena Blechinger-Talcott, visited in February Cairo, Egypt, for the first time. Her goal was to strengthen connections between FU Berlin and its partners in Egypt. It was a busy trip filled with meetings and memorable moments, showing how important global relationships are in academia.

During her stay, Prof. Dr. Blechinger-Talcott together with the head of the Cairo Liaison Office engaged in meaningful discussions with key players like the DAAD Cairo Office, The American University in Cairo, the Nile University, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and the Cairo University. These meetings were opportunities to explore shared interests and lay the groundwork for future collaborations. Prof. Dr. Blechinger-Talcott made it a point to emphasize the importance of collaboration and exchange between FU Berlin and its Egyptian partners. Her visit was about nurturing relationships and building bridges that span continents.

A highlight of the trip was the warm evening spent with FU Berlin alumni residing in Egypt.
