The aim of the 'Ibn Khaldun program' is to introduce students from Iraq to the German science and research landscape and therefore to strengthen the humanities and social sciences in Iraq on the long term. The honorable private Gerda Henkel Foundation now cooperates with DAAD to promote up to five students for three volumes. The program supports the training of Iraqi humanities and social scientists who can support the academic and social reconstruction in their country. The application deadline for the first year is 31 March 2013.
