QS Subject Ranking in 2014: Freie Universität Berlin among World's 200 Best Universities in 21 Subjects
Freie Universität among Top 50 Universities in Four Disciplines

The prestigious QS World University Rankings by Subject places Freie Universität Berlin among the best 200 universities worldwide in 21 of 30 subjects considered – whereby four of the 30 subjects are in the fields of engineering, and they are not offered by Freie Universität. In a nationwide comparison, only Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, which has 23 subjects among the best 200, performs better than Freie Universität.
In this latest QS Subject Ranking, Freie Universität placed among the 50 best universities in the world in four subjects – history (Rank 14 worldwide), modern languages (31), sociology (34), and philosophy (37). In history, no German university was ranked higher than Freie Universität.
