Berlin International Graduate School of Natural Sciences and Engineering (BIG-NSE)

Sep 26, 2020

Seven EC2/BIG-NSE scholarships/positions offered for excellent PhD students from all over the world to work on highly interdisciplinary research projects, overcoming the frontiers of classical disciplines in catalysis. Next deadline for applications: January 15, 2021

The BIG-NSE as a part of the "Einstein Center of Catalysis" (EC2) aims to inspire, initiate, and promote novel collaborations between research networks and institutions in Berlin on cutting-edge projects in chemistry and the molecular life sciences that may, in turn, open new directions for future catalysis research.

For the next season (starting 10/2021), BIG-NSE offer seven scholarships/positions. Deadline for applications: January 15, 2021

Before you apply for one of the scholarships/positions, please have a look at our Recruitment Philosophy webpage to be sure the School is what you are looking for and that you have a chance of being accepted as a future PhD student. Please be aware that the application process is a very competitive one and that only the very best students from the most prestigious institutions in the world stand a chance to be offered one of our scholarships/positions. Typically, only not even 10% of our applicants get invited for an interview, and even less win one of our few grants.

Applicants are only allowed to apply for previously determined projects, which are published at the beginning of October. The project leaders of UniSysCat submit project proposals to the EC2/BIG-NSE Executive Board, who then decide which projects proposals are to be advertised on our website. The latest list of accepted project proposals can be found here.
