DAAD Funding line relaunched: German-Egyptian-Progress-Partnership

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports the "German-Egyptian Progress Partnership" programme through 2 programme lines using funding from the Federal Foreign Office (AA).Programme line 1 is for university partnerships while programme 2 is concerned with short term measures.

The aim of the German-Egyptian Progress Partnership is to help create additional opportunities for renewing Egyptian higher education institutions, support them in their efforts to modernise and further academic progress.

The programme is open to all subject areas and is targeting University teachers, higher education employees, students, graduates, doctoral candidates from Germany and Egypt and, if applicable, from other countries. In the latter case, their participation in the funded measure must be directly connected to the project objective.

The application for project funding must be completed in full and must be submitted by the stipulated deadline exclusively via the DAAD portal (https://portal.daad.de/irj/portal).

The maximum amount of DAAD grant for Programme Line 1 is €100,000 per budget year. The funding period begins on 01/03/2019 at the earliest and ends on 31/12/2020 at the latest.

The application deadline for  Programme Line 1 is 10 December 2018.

The DAAD grant for Programme Line 2 is limited to a maximum of €40,000. The funding period begins on 01/04/2019 at the earliest and ends on 31/12/2019 at the latest.

The application deadlines for Programme Line 2 are:

  • 31/12/2018 for measures between 01/04/2019 and 31/12/2019
  • 01/04/2019 for measures between 01/07/2019 and 31/12/2019
  • 01/07/2019 for measures between 01/10/2019 and 31/12/2019
