Each year on December 4, students, staff, alumni and friends of Freie Universität come together in Berlin to celebrate its founding anniversary. In the spirit of this special day, this year, Freie Universität encourages you to join these celebrations in eight cities around the world.

We therefore cordially invite you to participate in the Worldwide Alumni Celebrations 2021 - in Athens, Brussels, Cairo, Moscow, New Delhi, New York, São Paulo, and Zurich! Join us for exciting programs, get to know your fellow alumni and peers, and reconnect with your alma mater!

The Celebration in Cairo is taking place on November 30, 2021. 

As a guest of honour we are expecting the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Egypt, H.E. Frank Hartmann, Alumnus of Freie Universität Berlin, who will hold the key note speech of this evening. His speech will be followed by the panel discussion that is considered another highlight of this event.
Questions such as “How would you describe the development and the expansion of university networks as well as the future of academic studies, teaching and research in times of digitalization and global crises?” and “What does a future-oriented (scientific) education look like for future students so they are fit for the job market after graduation?” are just a couple of examples of questions that we shall be answered during the panel discussion. During the following networking dinner, we are aiming to give our alumni more space for networking opportunities with each other.

Please note that a number of partial travel stipends for alumni from outside Greater Cairo is available. If you wish to apply for funding, please tick the respective box in the registration form.
