The internationalization of universities is a central aspect in order to interest students and potential young scientists worldwide in Germany and to network them internationally. Tobias Stüdemann from Freie Universität Berlin worked on this task for years and looked after the post-Soviet region from his liaison office in Moscow. The new geopolitical circumstances led to the office being relocated to Georgia last year. We spoke to him about his career, his personal and professional changes, and opportunities for educational partnerships between Germany and Central Asia.
