David Rose studied American Studies, German Literature, and Political Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and at the University of Washington, Seattle. He was a visiting research fellow at Brown University in Providence, RI. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Humboldt-Universität, where he works on his dissertation about the intersections of violence and community in American fiction. His research focuses on 20th century American literature and culture, popular fiction, and political theory. He is the co-editor (together with Karolina Golimowska and Reinhard Isensee) of the volume Family and Kinship in the United States (Peter Lang, 2016).
