Jasmin Krakenberg holds a Ph.D. in Germanics from the University of Washington, Seattle, where she received comprehensive and interdisciplinary training in German Studies. Her interest ranges from film theory and historiography to documentary, performance art, and avant-garde cinema. Her dissertation addresses some of the encounters between the visual arts and films associated with the Berlin School of Filmmaking. She has over twenty years of university-level teaching experience, education in foreign language pedagogy, and curriculum development to build engaging learner-centered as well as project- and performance-based learning solutions. Prior to returning to Berlin in 2020, she curated arts and cultural programs at Goethe-Institut’s temporary project space in Seattle.
