Dr. Nagler is a film scholar affiliated with the Department of Literature, Art & Linguistics at The Open University of Israel. From 2007-2010 she was a Max Planck Gesellschaft–Minerva Foundation post-doctoral fellow at the Seminar for Film Studies, Freie Universität Berlin, and was previously a visiting scholar at Harvard University and a lecturer at Tel Aviv University and Sapir Academic College in Israel. She holds a Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University. Her dissertation focused on the Doppelgänger motif in German cinema and its possible grounding in the Kinodebatte of the 1910s. Her research interests include German cinema, early cinema, Israeli cinema and Images of Jews in European Cinema. Her articles and book chapters have appeared in Just Images: Ethics and the Cinematic (2011), Welchen der Steine du hebst (2011), Gendered Memories: Transgressions in German and Israeli Film and Theater (2007), Filmblatt, Montage/av, Post-Script, Le Giornate del Cinema Muto Collegium Papers and other journals.
