The members of the Investigatory Commission meet at the request of the central ombudspersons and conduct the formal investigation in accordance with the GWP statutes of Freie Universität. They determine whether scientific misconduct has occurred in a relevant case and make recommendations to the Executive Board regarding possible sanctions.
