Green IT Program
The Green IT Program—adopted in 2010—has been instrumental in increasing energy efficiency. A comprehensive analysis of IT hardware, which preceded the program, found that IT-related processes accounted for at least 25% of the university’s power consumption. The most important measures taken by the Green IT Program havebeen modernizing the cooling-generation and supply system for the two data centers, centralizing the servers, gradually introducing a central power management system, and applying energy efficiency criteria when purchasing IT equipment. Training and raising awareness among employees have also been given increasing attention.
