Instructions for the transportation of hazardous material

Freie Universität Berlin is not a classic campus university; its buildings are located in Dahlem, Düppel and Lankwitz, some of them kilometers apart. In scientific and technical areas, it may therefore be necessary to transport dangerous goods on public roads. Dangerous goods are primarily hazardous substances and waste with hazardous properties. However, hazards may also arise from containers and equipment, as they are under pressure (e.g. pressurised gas cylinders).

External specialists advise those responsible and involved in all questions of collection, transport implementation and handover for dispatch, and also provide training. This dangerous goods officer can be reached for all questions at the central e-mail address Gefahrgutbeauftragte@fu-berlin.de.
