Glass (container glass)
>>> Used-glass container
The general used glass collection basically only covers disposable container glass. This includes:
- Juice bottles, champagne and wine bottles etc.
- Jars for jam, pickles, fruit, etc.
- Bottles for vinegar, oil, etc.
- Original chemical bottles if cleaned out and, if applicable, outgassed and the hazardous substance labelling has been removed or made unrecognisable, i.e. brown 2.5 litre bottles.
Unfortunately, collection only takes place at some properties of the FU Berlin, where a distinction is made between white glass and coloured glass. Where there is no used glass collection on the property, used glass must please be brought to the collection containers located on public street, the so-called igloos. The igloos usually distinguish between white glass, brown glass and green glass. If you have blue glass bottles, these can best be put in with the green glass.
ATTENTION: DO NOT INCLUDE IN THE WEEE COLLECTION any type of glass that has a different melting temperature than container glass and would therefore interfere with the recycling process. These include:
- Laboratory glassware, heat resistant (thermal glass).
- Drinking glasses
- Glass tableware and in particular
- fireproof glassware (Jenaglas)
- Glass vases, glass ashtrays
- Crystal glass, lead crystal glass
- Window glass
- Mirror glass
In small quantities these glasses can be disposed of in the residual waste otherwise see document below:
