Protective masks (FFP or medical)

>>> Residual waste

Nature and public spaces are polluted by carelessly discarded protective masks. This is increasingly becoming a significant nuisance and an avoidable environmental burden.

Protective masks such as FFP-1, FFP-2, FFP-3 or medical masks belong in the residual waste garbage can. Likewise, fabric masks belong in the residual waste.

They are not biohazardous per se and do not differ significantly from a used paper handkerchief in terms of their hazardousness. In order to exclude further contact for other persons, it is nevertheless advisable to pack the above-mentioned waste in a plastic bag (e.g. the test kit original plastic bag). Then please close the bag with a knot or secure it in some other way to prevent the contents from slipping out (e.g. with some staples) and dispose of it in the residual waste.

ATTENTION: Packaging of the protective masks can of course be recycled separately from the above-mentioned residual waste via the recycling garbage can.
