Old telecommunication devices, i.e. especially telephones from the time before "Voice over IP" or old or defective fax machines must be disposed of as waste electrical equipment.
However, if it is a current Cisco telephone, please first contact the IT representative of your department or institution to clarify whether the device should be returned to ZEDAT, or actually disposed of.
For the collection of old electrical equipment and electrical and electronic waste, there are collection points in many buildings, which you can find out about from your caretaker or your IT representative.
If you are unable to find out where to drop off old electrical equipment in your area, please contact the Sustainability & Energy Unit, Special Disposal Team.

Before disposing of an appliance, please check whether an application for segregation must be submitted to the asset accounting department of Freie Universität Berlin and, if necessary, also arrange for de-inventorying at ZEDAT.
