„Nature Positive Universities“ is a growing network of people from over 500 higher education institutions across the world, founded in December 2022 by the UN Biodiversity Conference in Montreal (Canada) on the initiative of the UN Environment Programme and the University of Oxford. The network is committed to protecting biodiversity and ecosystems. Specifically, the harmful effects of the university and its activities on nature should be kept as low as possible. In addition to teaching and research activities, the university's processes and supply chains should also be designed with a view to protecting biodiversity. By joining, Free University Berlin has also committed to submitting annual status reports on biodiversity on campus.
