The American Chemical Society Publications (ACS) is a publishing house based in the USA whose publishing portfolio currently includes 16 genuine open access journals.

The publication process for authors:

• As a "corresponding author", you submit your article to ACS Paragon Plus, stating your affiliation. During the submission process, FU authors are directed to the Journal Publishing Agreement (JPA) tool.
• A verification request is then forwarded to the Freie Universität Berlin.
• If the author selects the option "No, I do not want to publish Open Access" during the JPA process, ACS will ask again. It is then still possible to correct the decision.
• Open Access publication is completely free of charge for FU-affiliated authors.
