Usage and exploitation rights

All rights, especially rights of use and exploitation under copyright law for the media and information services, are reserved exclusively by the respective provider/publisher.

Downloading / making copies

Users are permitted to search the electronic resources for their own private or academic use and to copy a selection of the researched data (e.g. bibliographic data records including abstracts, journal articles, complete texts or excerpts) into their own computer memory or make paper copies (downloading and printing).

Systematic downloading of data - e.g. entire years of journals - is not permitted. Creating a separate archive outside of specific research purposes is also not permitted.

The use of special software (robots, spider, crawler) for downloading is not permitted. Transferring data completely or in part – whether on an electronic data carrier, via remote data transmission or as paper copies – or allowing access to third parties to the saved data and commercial information transfer is not permitted. All processing and modification is prohibited as is public playback, presentation or screening.

Misuse can lead to suspension of the ZEDAT account or user card. It can also lead to being banned from the Freie Universität Berlin's libraries.
