We should talk: Invitation to an innovation meeting
During the initial meeting with scholars, scientists, and researchers, we gather information on the nature and status of research, discuss ideas for possible applications, analyze what needs to be done and work together to plan the next steps toward commercialization. There are various important questions to ask at this stage: What industrial property rights should be asserted? Is patenting possible? How great is the market potential? What aid programs enter into consideration for validation purposes? What transfer path should be taken? The path to commercialization might lead through validation support to industrial cooperation, for example, or to a spin-off.
Following the innovation meeting, we offer the right form of support:
- Introductory information on industrial property rights and obtaining a patent, connections with colleagues at the Patent and License Service of Freie Universität Berlin
- Contact with companies, other working groups and external transfer experts
- Measures to further develop project ideas like Berlin InnoBridge or the Research to Market Challenge
- Information on seminars and events meant to build skills and gain qualifications, such as DRS Pro Transfer (Dahlem Research School) or Trans Pro Idee (translation of project ideas into research and start-up projects)
- Help with preparing applications for the following aid programs:
- VIP+ Validierung (German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)
- Proof of Concept Grant (European Research Council)
- Berlin Quality and Innovation Offensive
