Katrin Schweigel

Manager International Sustainability Cooperation, Freie Universität Berlin

Katrin Schweigel manages the international network of the "University Alliance for Sustainability" (UAS) and facilitates the annual UAS Conference. The UAS unites Freie Universität Berlin and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Peking University, St. Petersburg State University and the University of British Columbia in fostering sustainability in research, teaching, and campus management. In addition, she advances strategic processes at the FU Berlin in the area of sustainability - for example, she facilitates the participatory implementation of the climate emergency declaration at FUB. Working with faculty, staff, students and community members as well as key external partners, she offers workshops to bring about organizational change. Prior to this position she has been working in the field of international relations, blended learning and network building.

Sabine Heckmann

Innovation and Ideas Management, Freie Universität Berlin

As coordinator for the Innovation and Ideas Management at the Freie UniversitätBerlin, Sabine Heckmann supports all university members generate ideas, manage change and drive innovation for climate protection. The Executive Board of FUB has declared a climate emergency on December 17, 2019 and committed to a carbon-neutral university by 2025. To meet the goals of the climate emergency declaration, she organizes and structures the ideas and innovation process, identifies room for advancement as well as facilitates workshops. She has worked in facilitation, management and process support in the areas of climate change adaptation, sustainable value chains, natural resources management or international affairs globally. Her passion is to help guide people towards a sustainable life based on equity and participation.
