Transcripts

Students enrolled at Freie Universität involved in an international exchange program can request translations of their transcript of records to use for official purposes. Different procedures are in place for incoming students (international students studying at Freie Universität for a limited period of time) and outgoing students (degree seeking students at Freie Universität participating in a study abroad program outside of Germany).

Incoming International Students

English transcripts for exchange students (Erasmus+, Erasmus+ Weltweit, and direct exchange) at Freie Universität are handled by the Student Mobility office. Please contact them at incoming@fu-berlin.de for more information about how to obtain your English transcript of records for coursework at Freie Universität.

Outgoing Freie Universität Students (accepted to an approved study abroad program)

Students

If you need a transcript of records in English for your host university, please contact your examinations office to make a request. You should allow for at least three weeks processing time, so plan accordingly.

Students enrolled in multiple degree programs or in teacher-training programs should submit their request to the examinations office in their core subject.

Examinations Office Employees

The Central Translation Office uses custom-made software to produce English translations of outgoing students’ transcripts of records. We do our best to process requests in a timely manner. Please contact us directly if you foresee a high volume of requests approaching so that we can make appropriate arrangements.

The Central Translation Office will provide one transcript with all of the students coursework conducted at Freie Universität, including any coursework for completed degree programs.

Acknowledgment *

The examinations office is aware that the Central Translation Office seeks to provide accurate translations of modules, course titles, and other components of the transcript of records, but that it does not verify the consistency and accuracy of the data included regarding individual students, credits awarded, or grades earned. The final document is issued by the examinations office who is responsible for the accuracy of the data therein.
