Dr. Christian Thauer is a political scientist and Senior Lecturer in International Relations and at the DAAD Center for German Studies. Christian’s main research interests concern questions of business and governance with a particular focus on the environmental governance contributions of businesses in emerging markets. In his research project at FUB, Christian will conduct research on the question of to what extent, and through which mechanisms, asset specificity and the resulting social and environmental business norms influence macro-level environmental policies and regulatory structures in emerging markets. His stay at FUB will help him conceptualize the relationship between micro-level and macro-level institutions.
