In the past few years, Freie Universität Berlin and its entities have been an important actor in facilitating international and transdisciplinary research and exchange in the field of sustainability. Following this tradition, we are delighted to announce that the seventh UAS Conference will take place from November 1st to November 9th 2022. The conference is a sequel of a series of international and transdisciplinary University Alliance for Sustainability events, such as Spring Campus 2019, UAS Conference 2020 and UAS Conference 2021. During UAS Conference – Workshop Series 2021, we welcomed numerous researchers, PhD students and sustainability experts from various countries worldwide. The Emerging Researchers’ Conference 2022: Building Digital Bridges and Exploring the SDG Discourse will be held digitally. This year’s conference will be focusing on sustainability research of tomorrow and will be open for applications exclusively for PhD candidates addressing sustainability-related issues. Emerging PhD researchers will deal with megatrends in sustainability research and also discuss their individual dissertation projects. Both of the aspects mentioned will be tackled in the context of digital research cooperation in the sustainability area. Dynamic live sessions will deal with relevant topics of sustainability research and campus management. Apart from this, interactive group work and networking sessions constitute an important part of the conference and aim at further increasing its added value.

The Emerging Researchers’ Conference is organized by the University Alliance for Sustainability and Una Europa. The registration will be open for emerging PhD researchers from UAS partner universities as well as from Una Europa partners. Interested PhD candidates from non-partner universities are also invited to apply. The event will be open for applications mid-September 2022. All potential participants are invited to follow University Alliance for Sustainability on LinkedIn in order to receive updates on the conference.
