University Alliance for Sustainability Junior Research Stay at Peking University November 2015 - January 2016

Global Politics 

Since 2014 Dongping Wang is a PhD Candidate at the Graduate School of Global Politics of the Freie Universität Berlin. Her research topic is “The Political Economy of Climate Governance: Comparison between Chinese top-down Approach and German multi-level approach”.

In the research stay at PKU, she will focus on the local level to investigate their role in the Chinese climate governance system, and their interaction with enterprises, NGOs and the public in implementing policies that address climate change. She will explore the evolution of local climate governance brought by market mechanism and also their increasing engagement with international experiences, through which the research will provide a rethinking and re-examination of the Chinese top-down approach to climate governance.
