SUSTAIN IT! /Environmental Policy 

Since 2010 Karola Braun-Wanke is a research fellow at the Environmental Policy Research Centre (FFU). Karola is especially engaged in the research area of education for sustainable development (BNE). As awarded project manager of “SchülerUni Nachhaltigkeit + Klimaschutz”, Karola aims to raise awareness of climate protection and sustainable development at an early stage of education. Her approach of familiarizing students with climate-relevant issues within lectures was successfully adopted on a European level by seven different universities.

Karola is one of the founders of the university initiative on sustainability “SUSTAIN IT!” Within the scope of this initiative, she organizes frequent interdisciplinary events on the issue of sustainability and climate protection at Freie Universität Berlin.
