Jan Philipp Laurinat, Master Student in China Studies, has been at Peking University (PKU) to conduct fieldwork on Green University Development in China – Student Perception of Sustainability-Related Initiatives at Peking University.

This research project employs a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods to, firstly, identify and contextualise PKU’s various sustainability-related initiatives, the stakeholders involved and the institutional framework they take place in. Secondly, it assesses students’ perceptions thereof. The analysis is largely based on in-depth interviews with members of PKU faculty and administrative staff, semi-structured interviews with students and a questionnaire-survey among PKU’s student body.
