Constantin Groll conducted a Explorativ Research Stay with the topic "Taxation and sustainable development: Comparing Chinese and Mexican discourses around taxation, tax justice and citizenship" at Peking University in September 2017.

He is a PhD Fellow at Institute for Latin American Studiesn in the International Research Training Group "Between Spaces" at Free University of Berlin. Currently he works on the project: "Fiscal and Tax policy, Federalism & Decentralization, Subnational Politics, Structural Heterogeneity, Development, and Inequality in Latin America". His research is concerned with the interdependence of global economic processes and the re-production of social inequalities in Latin American federal states.
