The Freie Universität Berlin Library System – coordinated by the University Library – trains both Fachangestellte für Medien- und Informationsdienste for archives and libraries and Academic Librarians. For more information please refer to the German page.

For the time span from June 2015 to June 2017 the training units at the Freie Universität Berlin have received a Chamber of Commerce and Industry award: Siegel der Industrie- und Handelskammer.

The University Library also accepts various interns: students at schools in Berlin, FaMI trainees at institutions in Berlin and students attending library programs at the Humboldt-Universität or at other institutions where internships are required.
