Enrollment in a cooperative study program

You have been admitted to one of the following joint degree programs (cooperative degree programs) with one or more German/foreign higher education institution(s):

The admission letter will tell you which university is your main university (Ersthochschule).

Save all required documents individually and name them according to their content. Accepted file formats are pdf, jpeg, png, bmp, docx with a maximum size of 2MB each. We do not accept links to external storage locations or zip files.

2.1 application for enrollment, completed by you, consisting of pages 4-10, if you are not yet enrolled at Freie Universität Berlin or

2.2 if you are already enrolled at FU Berlin and wish to change your course of study, please use the application to change programs.

3. identification document showing your full last name, first name, date of birth, and expiration date. You have the option to black out all other information. This copy of the ID document is used exclusively for identification purposes and also protects against identity theft. The copy of the identification document will be destroyed after successful enrollment. For information on providing a name that differs from your birth name (TIN* students), please visit our webpage about change of name.

4. application for an electronic notification of health insurance status from a German statutory health insurance provider. The status is either publicly insured or - in the case of private health insurance - "exempted from compulsory insurance". Please inform the statutory health insurance provider about the FU Berlin sender number: H0000657. Explanations on how to apply for the electronic certificate can be found here.

5. university entrance qualification (Abitur or equivalent), if necessary an official translation.

6. if applicable, proof of sufficient German language skills in case of a foreign university entrance qualification (DSH, TestDaF).

7. if applicable, last enrollment certificate from a German university, stating the subject and number of subject related and university semesters

8. if applicable, certificate of withdrawal or other removal from the student register at the last German university attended (not applicable if you last studied at Freie Universität Berlin)

9. if applicable, final degree certificate, (if applicable, an official translation) in the case of a second degree/Master's degree (not applicable if you last studied at Freie Universität Berlin)

10. bank statement or transfer voucher with the date of transfer for the semester fees and contributions (including semester ticket fees) in the amount of 304,40€ for winter semester 2024/25. Payable to:

Note: For transfers from (non-EU) countries, additional bank charges may apply, which must be borne by the applicant. Please select the OUR option (you pay all transfer fees) when making transfers. This is the only way that the full semester contribution will go to Freie Universitaet's account. Otherwise, the enrollment will be delayed because the missing amount has to be reclaimed. In addition, when you transfer the missing amount, you still have to pay the additional transfer fees.

Enrollment will not take place until the corresponding amount has been received in full on the account of Freie Universität Berlin and when all other requirements have been met.

If you have further questions about enrollment, please contact the Info-Service Studium or refer to our website "FAQ Enrollment", as the above e-mail addresses ("imma-xxx@studium.fu-berlin.de") will not answer any questions.

After you have submitted your enrollment documents, you will receive an automatically generated confirmation of receipt and, if necessary, a follow-up request for missing documents. Please check your spam folder if necessary.
