If you earned your degree in a country other than Germany and wish to apply for the first or a higher subject-specific semester of a master’s program, you are required to submit your application to Freie Universität Berlin via uni-assist. Freie Universität Berlin will only accept applications provided with the uni-assist online application form. You may select a maximum of two master's programs.

Applicants with certificates from China, India or Vietnam have to submit the original certification from an Academic Evaluation Centre (Akademische Prüfstelle - APS) in addition to the required documents. If the certification presented does not yet include the degree for the application to a master's program, then a so called recertification (Nachzertifizierung), confirming the degree, has to be submitted for re-registration to the following semester. Please also note the information on specific countries provided by uni-assist.

Please upload the following documents to the uni-assist application portal:

sufficient knowledge of German (if required for the chosen master’s program)	depending on the requested study course
if applicable, additional study-related skills	if this is a selection criterion for the desired master’s program (please see the specific regulation on allocation of study placements)
completed special application sheet and all documents supporting your hardship application	if you file a hardship application

Please additionally upload the following documents to the uni-assist application portal if you are applying to any of the listed programs:

• for the master’s programs Finance, Accounting and Taxation as well as Management and Marketing: your thesis or an equivalent paper incl. translation (German or English)
• for the master’s program Business Information Systems the thesis prepared in previous academic program incl. translation (German or English), if you have not studied the bachelor's program Business Information Systems
• for the master's program Psychology the registration for the bachelor's thesis incl. translation (German or English), in case you have not earned your final degree yet
• for the master’s program Bioinformatics the self-disclosure form (see the department's website)
• for the master’s program Data Science the self-disclosure form (see the department's website)
• for the master’s program Cognitive Neuroscience the self-disclosure form (see the department's website)
• for the master’s program Economics the self-disclosure form (see the department's website)
• for the master’s program Public Economics the self-disclosure form (see the department's website)
• in addition, the forms which are included in the online application form:
  for the master’s program Psychology: self-disclosure form (Selbstauskunftsformular), proof of activity with subject reference
  for the master’s program Global History: choice of university where you want to enroll

For the master’s of education program “Quereinstiegs-Master”:  Please inform yourself on the webpage of Dahlem School of Education (the webpage is only available in German) what documents are required.

Please check carefully, if you have submitted all required documents to uni-assist in due time. If this is not the case, your application is incomplete and will be excluded from the admission procedure.
