If you earned your degree in a country other than Germany and wish to apply for the first or a higher subject-specific semester of a master’s program, you are required to submit your application to Freie Universität Berlin via uni-assist. Freie Universität Berlin will only accept applications provided with the uni-assist online application form. You may select a maximum of two master's programs.

Applicants with certificates from China, India or Vietnam have to submit a certification from an Academic Evaluation Centre (Akademische Prüfstelle - APS) in addition to the required documents. Typically, the original or digitally signed version of the APS certificate is accepted. If the certification presented does not yet include the degree for the application to a master's program, then a so called recertification (Nachzertifizierung), confirming the degree, has to be submitted for re-registration to the following semester. Please also note the information on specific countries provided by uni-assist.

Please upload the following documents to the uni-assist application portal:

completed special application sheet and all documents supporting your hardship application	if you file a hardship application

Please check carefully, if you have submitted all required documents to uni-assist in due time. If this is not the case, your application is incomplete and will be excluded from the admission procedure.
