FAQ

A registration is required in order to use our online application forms. Your registration data will be imported in the online form.

No, your application has to be submitted via uni-assist. The account will be automatically created with us after uni-assist has delivered the application to the university. You will receive an e-mail to activate the account.

Please wait for this activation e-mail!

Please only use a current, private email address for registration that will be valid beyond the application period. We kindly ask you not to use DAAD or other collective addresses as well as your current college or employer’s mail address.

You have already registered in the "Registration Portal" and therefore cannot create another account. Please use the button: "Login" on the website to log in to the "Application Portal of Freie Universität Berlin". You have been informed of your user ID by e-mail.

Please be patient and try again a little later. Possibly the transfer has not been updated yet or try again in a "private window" or in another browser.

To set up your account, it is absolutely necessary to use the activation link we have sent you to your email address. Your data are already prepared and only have to be activated. A complete reregistration is not necessary.

You can also request the confirmation link again. Please use the following website https://identity.fu-berlin.de/registration/account/confirm/renew. After entering your email address, that you have used for your application via uni-assist, we will send you the confirmation link. The email delivery can take up to 15 minutes.

Please go to the button "Login", there you have the possibility to create a new password via "Forgot your password/username?

  • In case you have several email accounts, please check which one was used for the registration process. The confirmation email will be sent to this address.
  • Please check if your email inbox might be full or if the email can be found in your spam folder.

The user ID was sent to you by e-mail. Please check your mailbox for the corresponding e-mail.

Applicants receive an Applicant Identification Number (Applicant ID) and an Applicant Authentication Number (BAN) during the registration process at http://www.hochschulstart.de, that can be viewed in the user account under "My Data/Personal Data". These personal identification numbers are required for the further application process for DOSV degree programs.

Please go to www.hochschulstart.de and select the button "Bewerbungsportal". The functions "Forgotten user name and password" are available.

First, check your spam folder to see if the mail is there.

You can request a new confirmation link in the registration portal. To do this, use the tab: REQUEST NEW CONFIRMATION LINK.
